Nick Cassidy had an incredible weekend at the Berlin E-Prix, winning Sunday’s Round 14 Race after qualifying P21.
Cassidy had revealed exclusively to Fastest Formula News that he felt the Berlin E-Prix would not be a happy one for his team. However, the TCS Jaguar Racing driver added victory in Sunday’s Round 14 Race to P5 in Saturday’s Round 13 Race. The weekend’s results see the Kiwi break the 100-point mark for the third season in a row.
Speaking in the post race press conference, Cassidy highlighted his delight at his Berlin E-Prix weekend, but also shone the spotlight on Oliver Rowland’s Drivers’ Championship victory.

Experience proved vital for Cassidy
Expectations were low for Cassidy at the start of the weekend. However, the Jaguar man cites experience as the key factor for his incredible drive.
“I’m really over the moon. It was a really, really nice race. I think, you know, experience mattered in that one. You needed to kind of read the race and know when to make your move, when to save, how aggressive to be.
“And there’s no doubt that Jake [Dennis] and Jev [Jean-Eric Vergne] are also excellent in that scenario. So quite early on, Jake was a topic on our radio. We knew he was going to be good and it worked out for all of us, which is really cool.”
Both Dennis and Vergne also carved their way through the field, climbing from P16 and P18 respectively.
Plenty of congratulations for Oli Rowland
Despite Cassidy’s incredible weekend, he was quick to congratulate Oli Rowland on winning the Drivers’ Championship.
“I don’t want to take anything away from the man over there, Oliver Rowland. I mean, it’s an amazing season for him to win the World Championship with a whole weekend to go is incredible. So, yeah, congratulations to Oliver and the Nissan team. Very special.”
With two races in London still to go, Rowland’s Nissan team could still win the Teams’ Championship, though they are trailing TAG Heuer Porsche by 23 points.
A ‘positive’ weekend for Jaguar TCS Racing
Cassidy had spoken about the struggles of Jaguar being off the pace this season. However, the Berlin E-Prix was an excellent weekend for the team, with Evans winning from pole in Round 13 alongside Cassidy’s Round 14 victory.
“Yeah, look, Mitch was unbelievable yesterday, he had incredible speed. I was also very proud of our race. We got very lucky with a safety car there that brought us back into that one.
“But overall, it means a positive weekend for the team. The last few weekends have been upwards for us. I think we’ve understood a few points on this car, how to get more performance out of it. I don’t think we’re quite 100 percent consistent weekend to weekend. But definitely, I think the last weekend has been stronger, so that’s a nice feeling.”
The Kiwi believes the future at Jaguar is one of great promise, adding: “The future for the team is very bright. There’s lots of development, lots of smart people in our team. So it’s nice to reward everyone there.”
The points haul for Jaguar in Berlin leads the team to P4 in the Teams’ Championship on 162 points, closely challenging DS Penske on 168 points heading into the London E-Prix.
