Jamie Chadwick and Leonardo Fornaroli will be driving for Jaguar TCS Racing at the Formula E Berlin Rookie Test. It takes place at the Tempelhof Airport circuit, on July 14th.
The Berlin outing will be Chadwick’s third of the season in the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 – having driven in the Women’s Test in Madrid and Jeddah Rookie Test. Fornaroli had a satisfying first win in the F2 British GP Sprint Race, and the test will be his first experience in an all-electric Formula E car.
Reacting to the news, both drivers were feeling grateful and excited to be working with the reigning Teams’ Champions.

Who are Chadwick and Fornaroli ahead of Formula E’s Rookie Test in Berlin
Jamie Chadwick has had a long and acclaimed racing career stretching back to 2013, across cars and open-wheel. Chadwick has won a host of series and events, including the British GT4 Championship and her class of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Most significantly, the British driver is a three-time W Series champion and currently races in the European Le Mans Series.
Leonardo Fornaroli is a 20-year-old open-wheel series racer, most notably being the reigning FIA Formula 3 Driver’s Champion. The Italian started out in Italian Formula 4 in 2020, before progressing to the Formula Regional Asian and European series. He won F3 in his second season in the series, and is now sixth in the Formula 2 standings.
Chadwick grateful to get back out on track with Jaguar
Chadwick is no stranger to a Formula E car, with tests stretching back to 2019. While Chadwick’s current plans are to work her way up to a Hypercar drive, Chadwick is certainly excited to be back out on track again with Jaguar.
“I’m looking forward to teaming up with Jaguar TCS Racing once again for the rookie test in Berlin. I am hugely grateful for the opportunities I’ve already had to drive the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 this season, and I’m eager to get back out on track with the team again.”
Chadwick posted the second-fastest time in the Women’s Test in Madrid, and also put together some strong laps in the Jeddah Rookie Test.
Fornaroli privileged for his first test in a Formula E car
At this stage in Fornaroli’s career, the GEN3 EVO Formula E car is without a doubt the most powerful vehicle he has piloted. The young driver is looking to take advantage of the “great opportunity” given to him by Jaguar.
“It is a privilege to mark my first official test in Formula E with Jaguar TCS Racing. It is going to be a new challenge for me, but one I am looking forward to. To work with the current world championship-winning team is a great opportunity for me and it will be really exciting to take to the Tempelhof Airport circuit for the first time.”
While the Italian is not currently signed to a Formula 1 driver academy, pairing a strong performance in the Berlin Rookie Test with a good showing in the rest of his F2 campaign could give a big boost to his chances of being signed.
Jaguar TCS Racing delighted to have Chadwick and Fornaroli for the Berlin Rookie Test
As current Teams’ Champions, Jaguar are well aware of what it takes to succeed as a Formula E team. Rookie Tests present an invaluable opportunity for teams and drivers to get extra track time, which can help the development of drivers and the car itself. Jaguar Team Principal, James Barclay, echoes the importance of the tests for the drivers.
“The Rookie Tests are extremely important, giving the opportunity to talented drivers to experience the pinnacle of electric motorsport and the latest Formula E GEN3 Evo car.”
On having Chadwick and Fornaroli as a driver line up for the Berlin Rookie Test, Barclay reciprocated the positivity shown by the pair.
“We’re delighted to welcome back Jamie to the team and give her another chance to put the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 through its paces. Jamie has enjoyed plenty of success in sportscars this year and has excelled across multiple motorsport disciplines, so it will be great to see her drive in Formula E again.
“We are also delighted to welcome Leonardo into the team in Berlin. Leonardo is enjoying an impressive debut season in Formula 2 off the back of winning the Formula 3 title last year – a superb achievement against a really strong field of drivers. We look forward to seeing what Leonardo can do behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 as he showcases his skillset in Formula E for the first time.”
