Formula E has confirmed that Excel Centre in London will continue to host the season finale for another year.
London has been the home of the championship finale since its inaugural race in 2021. The Excel Centre in London is a tight, twisting circuit that tests driver skill and guile.
The extension for London is still pending validation by the FIA World Motorsport Council. Once ratified, it will allow British fans to see the new, ultra-fast GEN4 car in action next season.
The unique indoor and outdoor setting of London Excel never fails to produce spectacular racing. Last year’s race saw the tense championship showdown between Jaguar and Porsche. Pascal Wehrlein emerging as world champion, while Porsche took the team honours.
2024’s race saw a crowd of almost 50,000 attended the weekend. It marked the event as a stand out venue for Formula E.
Formula E ‘pleased to extend’ contract with London Excel Centre
In a statement, Alberto Longo, Chief Championship Officer, Formula E, said:
Alberto Longo, Chief Championship Officer, Formula E, said: “We’re pleased to extend our relationship with Excel London, which has been a perfect home for Formula E over the last few years. Its unique track conditions and event space offers fans and drivers the very best of our sport, bringing the best racing and entertainment together in a truly unique venue at the heart of the capital, while all delivered sustainably.”
Damian Norman, Director of Immersive Entertainment & Events at Excel London, added: “Since our inaugural race in 2021, it’s been incredible for Excel to host such a sporting spectacle and to work with Formula E in creating the only indoor/outdoor circuit. It’s also been an honour for Excel and London to stage the championship’s season finale and for British fans to witness a world champion of motorsport crowned on UK soil. We’ve also developed a great collaboration with Formula E too, from setting the Guinness World Indoor Land Speed Record to ensuring the event is powered using 100% renewable energy, so we’re delighted to be continuing this into 2026.”
Formula E returns to action next weekend for the Monaco E-Prix. Oliver Rowland will look to get his championship back on track after a disappointing race in Miami.
