After an exciting Fast 12, it was Felix Rosenqvist, Pato O’Ward, Robert Shwartzman, Scott Dixon, Alex Palou and Takuma Sato who would be contesting the Firestone Fast 6. Alex Palou topped the first day of Indy 500 qualifying on a day of high pressure at the famous oval. Despite four days of practice sessions, many questions remained ahead of Indy 500 qualifying. Rick Mears, four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, currently works for Penske in an advisory role. Mears attended Friday’s Press Conference with Penske drivers Will Power, Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin and Penske President Tim Cindric.
