Championship contender, Alex Palou, is “hungry” to finish the 2025 IndyCar season strong ahead of the Portland GP. Palou could take the 2025 championship title if he ends up on Victory Lane at the Portland GP. Palou has won 8 races so far this season, with AJ Foyt and Al Unser holding the record at 10 wins per season. McLaren driver Oscar Piastri was feeling “mixed” after a podium finish at the Hungarian GP, with a final laps battle for the win. Piastri started and finished the Hungarian GP in second. However, the Australian driver was dejected after not being able to take the win against Norris. The Papaya battle for the win started on Lap 64. Charles Leclerc beat the McLarens for pole position for the Hungarian GP. Piastri and Norris will start in second and third, respectively. Alex Palou “could not be happier” after his 2025 Java House Grand Prix of Monterey win at Laguna Seca. Alex Palou showed dominant pace in Laguna Seca today. Palou had a “a big pace advantage” after leading 84 of the 95 laps and gaining an impressive gap during restarts. Alex Palou took the NTT Pole Award at the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey with Pato O’Ward next to him. Palou said, “It’s better to have your closest competitor close” after qualifying. With four races left in the 2025 IndyCar Series, Palou and O’Ward are in contention for the championship win. Although Palou will start ahead of O’Ward, strategy is the real winner. Ed Carpenter Racing driver, Alexander Rossi’s unfortunate DNF after brushing the wall in Toronto, is “behind us now”. Alexander Rossi had his 2025 Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto race end early after commonly brushing the wall, which caused a full course caution on Lap 31. Arrow McLaren driver, Pato O’Ward took victory in Indy Toronto, winning in Exhibition Place after he and McLaren chose to “make a decision and send it”. Kyle Kirkwood was the overall fastest in the Practice 1 on the Streets of Toronto’s Exhibition Place. Scott McLaughlin and Alex Palou rounded out the overall Top 3.
