Hitech TGR has confirmed that 16-year-old Freddie Slater will return to the Formula 3 grid for Round 8 of the 2025 season at Spa-Francorchamps. The Brit joins Hitech’s Belgian Grand Prix lineup alongside Martinius Stenshorne and Gerrard Xie.
Debuting earlier in the season, Slater impressed many in Bahrain. His adaptability to the series and car helped him secure a podium on his debut race in the series. With only in-season testing and two sessions under his belt, the Brit managed to outperform many drivers on the grid.
Slater has had a standout 2025 campaign beyond F3. He finished runner-up in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship earlier this season. Additionally, Slater currently leads the FRECA championship with five wins from the opening five rounds.
Thoughts from Slater
Speaking ahead of his return to the F3 grid, Slater expressed his excitement about rejoining the team at the Belgian Grand Prix. Particularly as he joins for one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
“I’m looking forward to racing at Spa with Hitech. It is one of my favourite circuits on the calendar and driving an F3 car here will be a great feeling.”
Hitech Team Manager Paul Bellringer welcomed Slater’s return, noting both his potential and his prior success in the series.
“We are delighted to welcome Freddie to the team for the next round of the F3 Championship. His single-seater career to date is impressive. His standout performance in Bahrain earlier this year was particularly creditable given that it was his series debut.
“Spa-Francorchamps is a unique challenge, and although Freddie has raced here before, doing so in F3 machinery is a special opportunity. We look forward to seeing him in action again.”
With unpredictable weather conditions and a challenging circuit ahead, Slater has all eyes on him as he aims for yet another standout F3 performance.
