AIX Racing has officially confirmed their first signing for the 2026 F3 campaign. The team have announced that 18-year-old Yevan David will join them for his series debut next season. This signing makes history, as David becomes the first Sri Lankan driver to compete in F3. Marking a pivotal moment in Sri Lanka’s motorsport adventures.
David currently competes in the Euroformula Open Championship. So far this season, the young driver has enjoyed a fairly impressive season. Picking up four race victories and five podium finishes in an ultra-competitive series.
However, Euroformula is not the first experience David’s had in single-seater racing. The Sri Lankan has gained valuable experience in other junior categories such as Eurocup-3, various F4 categories and International Karting series. This experience has helped shape the young driver to have the ability and race craft that he currently possesses.
Thoughts from David
Yevan David expressed his excitement about the official announcement for next season. Namely, he was thrilled about becoming the first driver to represent his country in the series, thanking AIX for the opportunity to make history.
“Very thankful to have this opportunity to be racing as the first Sri Lankan driver in Formula 3, and with AIX Racing. They’ve proved themselves, and I’m excited to achieve great milestones with them for the season ahead.”
Formula 3 will return for one final round in 2025, when the season resumes in Monza. After that, it is all eyes toward the 2026 season, and who the next champion will be.
