Mitch Evans led FP3 at the FE London E-Prix, with a 1:06.984. Behind him was the Porsche of Pascal Wehrlein and the Maserati of Stoffel Vandoorne.
The final practice session of the season got underway at the London E-Prix with drivers desperate to use the last chance before qualifying to get the optimum performance out of the car.
In the early stages of the session. Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix Da Costa took the top two spots in the timings, with a 1:09.395 and 1:09.522. The conditions are cloudier in London, with the chance of rain always possible.
Edo Mortara came across the line on his push lap to take the fastest time with a 1:09.059. Cassidy, yesterday’s winning, slipping in behind the Mahindra driver.
The Nissan powertrain has been struggling all weekend in London, and it seemed to continue into Sunday. With Bird in ninth, Barnard in 18th for McLaren and Nato and Rowland in 15th and 17th.
As the session progressed, Felix Da Costa was on a flying lap, with a purple middle sector that shot him to the top of the times. With a 1:07.513. However, again Mortara in the Mahindra had impressive pace, going a tenth faster than Da Costa with a 1:07.392.
Maximilian Günther settled into third with De Vries in fourth. However, further back in the field Pascal Wehrlein was on a push lap. The German managed to set personal bests in each sector, crossing the line to go third.
Jake Dennis crossed the line with an impressive time of 1:07.395, not enough to get past Mortara but fast enough for second. However, second became third as Dan Ticktum put in a stunning lap of 1:07.270, taking P1 for the Brit around his home track.
Final ten minutes
Taylor Barnard was on a flying lap, desperate to move up from P20 where he found himself, and yet as the lap progressed the young Brit ended up diving into the pits, abandoning the effort.
Mitch Evans, the pole sitter from Race 1 took P1 in the session as he crossed the line. With a 1:07.223. But Pascal Wehrlein was on a stunning flying lap in the closing stages of the session with a purple first sector that shot him to the top as he crossed the line. His time of a 1:07.045.
Jake Hughes who had an issue at the beginning of the session was still yet to leave the garage, as his teammate with 1:07.227, putting the Maserati driver in third.
Mitch Evans took the chequered flag first, reclaiming P1 as he became the first driver to cross into the 1:06s with a 1:0984.
Evans led the session from Wehrlein and Vandoorne. The McLaren’s were down in P20 and P21 as their bad weekend got worse.
