Formula 3 returns to Spa-Francorchamps for Round 8 of the 2025 season, and with unpredictable weather and a tightly packed title fight, the stakes couldn’t be higher in Belgium.
Here are some of the standout drivers to keep an eye on this weekend in Belgium.
Rafael Câmara
Championship leader Rafa Câmara comes to Spa sitting on 120 points, with a very tight gap to his rivals behind. The Brazilian has had an outstanding beginning to 2025, breaking the F3 record for pole positions in just his rookie year of the competition. Additionally, Câmara has clinched three feature race wins and featured on the podium on four occasions.
However, Câmara’s form has recently dipped, with the Brazilian losing ground in the championship to his more experienced rivals. Whilst the rookie still holds the championship lead, it has been reduced to a mere 27 points. A good performance in the changeable conditions of Spa could allow the Ferrari Academy driver to reassert his dominance in the championship.
Nikola Tsolov
Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov has had a standout 2025 season. The Bulgarian has climbed to third in the standings. Without a disqualification in Austria, Tsolov would likely be leading the championship. Despite the setback, the Bulgarian has still managed to break the all-time F3 win record this season, reinforcing his credentials as a serious title threat.
Tsolov has publicly stated that both he and Campos Racing are operating at their “maximum,” and he believes the title fight will go all the way to the wire. A strong result at Spa could propel him into striking distance of Câmara.
Mari Boya
No one arrives at Spa with more momentum than Spaniard Mari Boya. The 21-year-old’s stunning wet-weather victory at Silverstone was his first Feature Race win of the season. But more importantly, it capped off a run of three consecutive podiums in 2025.
Since the Imola Grand Prix, Boya has been incredibly consistent in the series. This consistency has paid off for the Campos Racing driver, who currently sits fourth in the championship. Boya is just thirty-five points off Câmara’s championship lead, and even closer to second with eight points separating him from Tramnitz ahead.
An Aston Martin Junior Driver, Boya has emerged as a late-season threat. If his consistency and wet weather abilities continue this weekend, he could catapult himself firmly into the championship spotlight.
Callum Voisin
Rodin Motorsport’s Callum Voisin is another contender this weekend. Particularly because Spa is where he claimed his first-ever F3 win in 2024. The British driver managed to clinch victory in the Feature race last year and will be willing to repeat that in 2025.
Voisin hasn’t been a central figure in the title fight this season, with the Rodin driver sitting 11th. However, having proven pace at Spa, Voisin could be a threat to the championship contenders this weekend in Belgium.
What to Expect at Spa
Spa has a reputation for delivering unpredictable and unforgettable racing, and with four drivers within 35 points of the lead, this weekend could prove decisive. With weather, pressure, and history in the mix, the championship battle is about to get even more intense.
