CUPRA KIRO has officially confirmed Callum Voisin and Bianca Bustamante as its drivers for the 2025 Formula E in-season Rookie Test, which will take place at the historic Tempelhof Airport circuit in Berlin on Monday, 14 July.
Scheduled for the day after the Berlin E-Prix double header, the Rookie Test offers a critical opportunity for Formula E teams to evaluate new talent in a competitive, high-performance setting. Not only does the test allow for additional mileage and technical development, but it also gives emerging drivers their first hands-on experience with Formula E’s latest innovation—the GEN3 Evo race car.
Callum Voisin joins from F3
Callum Voisin, aged 19, joins CUPRA KIRO as part of his development pathway through the upper tiers of single-seater racing. The British racer captured the GB3 Championship title in 2023 and currently competes in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Following a consistent weekend in Spielberg, he now sits ninth in the overall standings, having secured double points in Austria.
Hui excited to watch Voisin behind the wheel
In announcing Voisin’s participation, CUPRA KIRO Team Principal Alex Hui expressed confidence in the young Briton’s capabilities and potential. He praised Voisin’s rapid ascent through the motorsport ranks, noting the strong foundations that have made him stand out.

Hui proceeded to highlight Voisin’s recent milestones, pointing to his consistency and maturity behind the weel.

Voisin eager for Formula E debut
Reacting to the announcement, Voisin expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent CUPRA KIRO in Berlin.
“I’m thrilled to be joining CUPRA KIRO for the Berlin Rookie Test and to get my first experience of Formula E,” Voisin said.
He then acknowledged the team’s strong momentum in the current season and recognised the value of joining such an ambitious outfit. Moreover, Voisin shared his enthusiasm for the electric series, revealing that his interest in Formula E has been longstanding.
“The team has had an incredible growth trajectory this season, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with them in a professional environment. I’ve been following Formula E for a long time, and I’m really looking forward to learning everything I can, both in the car, and from Dan [Ticktum] and David [Beckmann]. The GEN3 Evo will be an exciting challenge, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Bustamante, new development driver for CUPRA KIRO
Joining Voisin at the Rookie Test is CUPRA KIRO’s Development Driver, Bianca Bustamante. The 19-year-old Filipino talent was officially announced as part of the team’s roster in June, ahead of the Jakarta E-Prix, and will now make her first on-track appearance with the outfit during the Berlin test.
Bustamante’s single-seater career began in 2022, and her rapid progress since then has been closely followed. She has raced in W Series, F1 Academy, and most recently in the GB3 Championship. Additionally, she participated in Formula E’s all-women test at Jarama in 2024 with McLaren, where she impressed by setting the third-fastest time of the session.
CUPRA KIRO’s Chief Operating Officer Russell O’Hagan welcomed her to the team with high praise and a clear focus on long-term development. He then highlighted her achievements and influence both on and off the track.

Bustamante focused on learning a growing
Reacting to the announcement, Bustamante shared her enthusiasm and outlined her goals heading into the Berlin test and beyond. She then spoke positively about her early experience with the team and its dynamic approach.
“I’m really excited to join CUPRA KIRO as the team’s Development Driver as I continue my Formula E journey. In the very short time that we’ve been working together, it’s been incredible to experience the team’s disruptive approach to racing in action and to see the team’s hunger and desire for success first-hand. Working with Dan, David, and the team is an invaluable opportunity for me at this stage of my career, and I’m looking forward to applying everything I learn into the GB3 Championship in 2025. I’m excited to absorb everything on-site in Jakarta and of course, to drive the team’s current Season 11 car in Berlin this July.”

CUPRA KIRO continues to build momentum in its debut Formula E campaign. The team recently celebrated its first victory earlier this season, with Dan Ticktum securing a breakthrough win in Jakarta.
