Campos’ Nikola Tsolov has been disqualified following the F3 Austrian GP feature race.
Red Bull Junior Nikola Tsolov, who claimed victory in the Feature Race, was disqualified after his car failed post-race scrutineering. The plank on Car 12 was found to be below the minimum thickness of 4.0mm, as required by Article 3.2.2 of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Technical Regulations.
The infringement was identified post-race. It measured 3.7mm in thickness, clearly below the regulatory limit. Despite representations from the team, the Stewards upheld the finding and issued a disqualification.
As a result of this disqualification, Martinius Stenshorne secures the race win after starting P15 on the grid. Tim Tramnitz is promoted to P2, with Tsolov’s teammate Mari Boya on the podium for the feature race.
In terms of the championship, this result has enabled Câmara to reclaim his championship lead with 117 points. Tsolov drops from second to third in the championship, 28 points behind his championship rival in the TRIDENT. Tim Tramnitz moves up into second, just 24 points away from the leader.
Van Hoepen also disqualified
In a separate post-race decision, Laurens Van Hoepen was also disqualified. His car was found to be in breach of Article 10.4.3 of the Technical Regulations, relating to tyre pressures.
According to the FIA’s findings, the front left, rear left, and rear right tyres on were all below the required 13.0 PSI. After the team was heard by the Stewards, it was confirmed that the car was non-compliant. Resulting in yet another DSQ for the Feature Race,
Formula 3 will be back next weekend for round 7 of the F3 championship at the British Grand Prix. Both drivers will be eager to score a good points haul ahead of the final three rounds of the season. With just 28 points separating the top 3 in the championship, it is still anyone’s game.
