Arvid Lindblad has been one of the most talked-about drivers on the F2 grid in 2025. The 17-year-old Red Bull junior has been making headlines since his Formula Oceania championship win at the beginning of the season. However, standout performances in his rookie season of F2, including a dominant Feature Race victory at the Spanish Grand Prix, have kept eyes on him.
Building consistency in 2025
Lindblad has scored points in every round except the Australian Grand Prix, an impressive feat for a rookie in a series of carnage. This consistency even surprised Lindblad himself.
“Well, I mean, to be honest, I didn’t even realise that I’d been in the points every race until after Barcelona.”
The Brit praised his Campos Racing team for providing him with a strong car for much of 2025. Allowing him to have the best opportunity for consistency.
“The team have done a really good job. So I think that’s sort of why that’s there. And then, yeah, I think F3 was quite unique. I think it looked worse than what it was. There were a few things that happened, some mistakes, and crucial moments from my side. But I think, looking more at this year, I’m happy with the consistency that we’re showing.”
Lindblad remains focused on F2
With the mounting pressure of F1 teams and a larger audience watching, Lindblad has remained grounded. He is choosing to focus on improvement and consistency rather than title talks.
“I haven’t thought too much about the championship. It’s still early. I mean, we’re not even halfway yet.”
The young rookie holds consistency in a higher light. Maintaining momentum in the feeder series is crucial to having a strong campaign. Lindblad has credited this momentum as a huge reason why he and Campos were competitive during the triple header.
“We’ve been competitive over the last couple of rounds, which is obviously what you need to be in the championship.”
However, despite solid results in the last few rounds, the Red Bull junior remains hyper-aware of areas that he and Campos could improve on, helping them to challenge at the front consistently.
“I think there’s still a lot to improve on my side. I think also some bits with the team as well, we can improve. So it’s still early days, but I think if we keep doing what we’re doing, keep going with this momentum and keep making steps forward, then I think we have all the tools to be in the fight.”
Settling in well at Campos Racing
Despite being his first year with Campos Racing, Lindblad quickly found his place within the team. Coming from a long-standing history with PREMA Racing in F4 and F3, the transition to Campos has been smooth for the Brit.

“It’s been really good. I’ve really enjoyed working with Campos so far. It’s different to what I was used to with Prema, but at the same time, the mindset is the same — everyone’s hungry to win and always pushing to find more performance.”
Preparing for Austria as a Red Bull junior
Lindblad’s rapid rise through the junior categories has naturally sparked comparisons to other Red Bull talents, including four-time champion Max Verstappen. Whilst the Brit was flattered by the comparison, he remains adamant that he is focused on himself.
“It’s nice to be compared to someone like Max, but honestly, I think it’s a bit early to make those kinds of comparisons. I’m just focused on doing my best, improving, and making the most out of every race.”
However, Lindblad emphasised that the Red Bull junior program has helped him become the driver he is currently.
“I’ve been part of the Red Bull family since I was thirteen, and I’ve really grown a lot since then. I’m super grateful for their support — they’ve helped me get to where I am.
In just under a week, Formula 2 will be preparing for the Austrian Grand Prix. The Red Bull Ring is often a crucial track for Red Bull junior drivers to perform well at. However, Lindblad isn’t letting the expectations of the home track distract him, remaining focused on the challenge ahead.
“Obviously, it’s the home of Red Bull, which is always nice, but honestly, I don’t really think about that too much. I’m just focused on driving fast and doing my job.”
Last year, in Formula 3, Lindblad qualified on the front row at the Red Bull Ring but finished seventh in the race. He is hopeful that this time around, with more experience and a strong package under him, he can aim for an even better result.
“I think we’ve got really good momentum at the moment, and I’m feeling very comfortable with the team and the car. I’m really looking forward to Austria.
Looking to the future
One of the biggest headlines over the weeks has been whether Arvid Lindbald could be in line for a Formula 1 seat in the future. With Red Bull’s driver line up uncertain, and an FIA super licence exemption, it is a real possibility for the teenager.
However, Lindblad is not getting ahead of himself. Whilst he acknowledged the influence of rookies in F1 this season, it was a positive sign for himself. He admitted that he needs to continue performing to the best of his ability in F2.
“It’s great to see so many rookies in F1 this year. I think it shows the teams are starting to trust the level in F2, and that’s good for all of us here. But in the end, it doesn’t really mean anything if I don’t perform well. All I’m focused on is trying to do a good job in F2 this year. If I keep working hard, and we keep performing, then the opportunities will come.”
