Formula E and the FIA have unveiled the provisional calendar for Season 12 (2025/26) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Validated by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, the Season 12 schedule will feature 18 races in 12 different cities. Making it the most extensive season in the all-electric racing series’ history.
New races in Madrid and Miami added to the calendar for Season 12 of ABB FIA Formula E
For the first time, the Formula E championship will visit Madrid and the Miami International Autodrome, located near Hard Rock Stadium. Miami’s debut on January 31, 2026, builds on the success of the “EVO Sessions” held earlier this year. Madrid will host its first Formula E race on March 21, 2026, at the historic Circuito de Madrid-Jarama. It will also be the first FIA World Championship event in the Spanish Capital since 1989.
These additions expand Formula E’s presence in key global markets and bring high-speed electric racing to passionate new fan bases in both Europe and the U.S.
A season spanning three continents
Season 12 kicks off in São Paulo on December 6, 2025. From there, the championship travels to Mexico City in January before arriving in Miami. February brings a double-header in Jeddah, held under the lights in a night-race format.
Following Madrid in March, the drivers return to Berlin in May for another double-header. Monaco will once again serve as a standout highlight, hosting back-to-back races on May 16 and 17 – only the second time this has happened in the Principality.
Two races scheduled for May 30 and June 20 are yet to be confirmed, with negotiations underway. The final calendar will be ratified in a forthcoming FIA meeting.
July will see double-header weekends in Shanghai and Tokyo, before the season concludes in London on August 15 and 16.
Sustainable, strategic approach
Sustainability has been central to the calendar’s design. Races are grouped by continent—Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific—to minimize freight mileage and cut carbon emissions. Formula E continues to lead motorsport’s shift toward greener operations.
According to Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds, this calendar represents the “most competitive yet,” with a mix of new and returning venues. Formula E is “becoming easier to follow, attend, and support. That builds loyalty and love,” he said.
Final season for the GEN3 Evo
Season 12 of Formula E will also mark the final competitive year for the GEN3 Evo race car. Its successor, the all-new GEN4, is set to debut in Season 13 (2026/27). Ushering in the next era of high-performance electric racing.
As Formula E continues to grow its global fan base, this record-setting calendar promises the most action-packed and far-reaching season in the sport’s history.
