Rafa Câmara led from pole to take another astounding win in his F3 title campaign at the Spanish GP feature race.
Câmara retired from the Sprint race on Saturday, continuing a long streak of sprint struggles, but in a similar fashion to the majority of the season, Câmara was starting on pole for the feature race and looking for the win.
As the lights went out, Câmara had a clean get away, holding onto the lead into the first turn. Tsolov suffered a difficult start, dropped back down the order into eighth.
Ramos slowed on track further back on the track, quietly making his way around the track and into the pits. Ramos retired his car.
There were moves up and down the grid and the order was shaken up. Biliński tried to make a move on Garfias. Clipping the back of him and sending both cars into the gravel. Retiring from the race. The weekend was one to forget for Biliński after getting caught up in a collision in the Sprint race left his weekend pointless.
The incident brought out a safety car, which ended on lap 7. Câmara was hoping for a strong safety car restart, and that was exactly what he got. Under the green flag running, he pulled clear of the field, with just Van Hoepen behind.
Fighting for fourth was Stenshorne and Taponen which Stenshorne came out ahead and into fourth. Tsolov was slowly fighting back up through the order into seventh place, but he still had a way to go.
On lap 19, another safety car was brought out when Lacorte and Badoer made contact. The incident left Lacorte with a 12 penalty points and race ban for the next race in the season.
Safety car restart
Câmara aced another restart, leading yet again. Van Hoepen held onto the back of the trident, with Naël not far behind.
Track limits became a growing issue for more drivers. With Del Pino receiving a black and white flag for the infringements.
Boya and Intraphuvasak fought, with Inthraphuvasak being forced to dive into the escape road to take the place. He was forced to give the place back rather than risk a penalty.
However, Lacorte’s day went from bad to worse, receiving a penalty for a safety car infringement. In the final laps, Guisti closed the gap on Van Hoepen, who had fallen to third. Guisti made the move and took the final podium place.
Câmara crossed the line to solidify another dominant win in his impressive season so far.
