Lewis Hamilton has revealed details behind his surprise reunion with physiotherapist Angela Cullen.
The two have officially reunited ahead of the Britt’s first season with Ferrari in 2025. The Kiwi physiotherapist has been a key figure in Hamilton’s Formula 1 career, being an instrumental part of his success before departing in 2023.
Rumours soon intensified when she was seen in the Ferrari garage during pre-season testing. These rumours were later confirmed by Hamilton who expressed his excitement to have Cullen by his side again.
Speaking to Sky Sports during the second day of testing, Hamilton stated he reached out to the long-time friend, inviting her to join him as he starts a new chapter of his Motorsports career at Ferrari.
Hamilton wanted to create a strong team of people behind him as he started this new journey, and therefore, Angela was an obvious choice.
“It’s always important to have a good foundation of people around you,” Hamilton stated.
“I’ve generally had a very good base for many, many years. So, I still have all the team that I had last year, but I’ve brought Ange [Angela] in on top of that.”
Hamilton also highlighted the deep bond that the pair share, hving been through all the highs and lows that Formula 1 has to offer drivers at times.
“And asking her to come and start this new chapter with me, and her accepting it, was exciting,” he continued. “And we’ve been having a blast. This past month together has been really awesome.”
Cullen, who took time away from the sport to spend time with family and travel, returned to IndyCar with Marcus Armstrong last year. However, Cullen could not turn down Hamilton’s offer to return, something that left the seven-time World Champion “really excited.”
A Positive Start to 2025 with Ferrari
It’s been the biggest talking point since February last year, but Hamilton’s Ferrari move marks a significant career shift, The British Driver is aiming to claim his elusive eighth World Championship, with testing finally completed, Hamilton’s full focus is on his Ferrari debut in Melbourne.

Reflecting on his early experiences with Ferrari, the veteran driver expressed a sense of optimism. He noted that this is the best he has felt heading into a season in years.
“I think that probably, in the last four years or so, I’ve learned that you really can’t judge too much from the first outlook,” Hamilton said. “In the past years before that, particularly in the previous generation of cars, it was much easier to know where you stood quite early on with that early feeling.”
“This is the most positive feeling that I’ve had in a long time. That’s all I can say for now.”
