F1 75 marked the sport’s landmark anniversary in grand style, hosting Formula 1’s inaugural collective live livery launch event at London’s O2 Arena.
All ten teams revealed their 2025 liveries, in front of thousands of eager Formula 1 fans watching on. In case you missed it, here’s a short recap of the historic event.
Livery reveals
Each team was given time to introduce their 2025 challenger. All ten teams put in copious amounts of effort into the marketing videos, creating a storyline behind their campaign for the upcoming season. With teams revealing their liveries in reverse championship order. Starting with Sauber, and ending with the Constructors champions of McLaren.
Sauber
Sauber introduced their C45 in style, retaining the elements of neon green and charcoal for 2025. The gradient livery is reminiscent of their Las Vegas livery last season. Team principal Mattia Binotto expressed his optimism for the season ahead. With Sauber finishing last season with only 4 points they will be looking to make their way up the constructors standings.
“I feel energised for 2025… we are really looking forward to the next season and show how capable we are – 2025 is an important season for us,” Binotto said.
Williams
The British team introduced a dark-to-royal blue gradient livery with white sponsors all over the car. They opted to keep the fan-favourite Duracell battery intake. Team Principal James Vowles was excited to get the season underway in 2025, reinforcing the idea that racing is their life.
“It is an amazing event, for us racing is in our heart – it’s what we do – we’ll be in Bahrain in just a few days’ time with Australia less than a month away. We can’t wait – 2025 starts now”
VCARB
VCARB unleashed one of the best liveries of 2025, with their stark white car. Featuring their sister team Red Bull’s logo on the front and rear wings as well as on the engine indent. The back of the car features smaller dark blue racing bulls logos.
Haas
Haas’ livery launch did not quite hit the high note of others due to a livery leak earlier this week. However, the American team confirmed their predominantly white car, featuring black and red accents.
Alpine
The French outfit has opted for a primarily pink A525 for the upcoming season. The new car features metallic blue side pods, making the car extremely difficult to miss on track.
Aston Martin
For 2025, Aston Martin has kept its signature British Racing Green colour. However, the car has been given black sidepods and fluorescent yellow accents.
Mercedes
Mercedes is entering a new era in 2025. However, the Silver Arrows have primarily stuck to their 2024 livery concept. Their car features a silver front with black and teal sidepods.
Red Bull
Red Bull’s 2025 livery is the same tried-and-tested one that debuted in 2016. This iconic livery reflects the philosophy that Red Bull Racing has followed throughout its past successful seasons.
Ferrari
Ferrari’s launch was highly anticipated, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc debuting as teammates for one of the first times in 2025. They have opted for a scarlet red car, featuring white accents around their car. Lewis Hamilton spoke on the upcoming season with the new team.
“Everything is new, and I’m so full of energy.”
McLaren
McLaren followed in the footsteps of Red Bull. Opting not to change their 2024 livery due to the wild success the car had brought them. Andrea Stella spoke during the car launch on the innovative MCL39.
“From a technical standpoint, it’s an innovative car, but we wanted to honor last year’s championship.”
F1 75 live host Jack Whitehall plays to the crowd
Another major storyline was host Jack Whitehall’s jokes. Throughout the night, the comedian poked fun at several F1 drivers. Most notably, at the beginning of the show, the Brit joked about the ‘beef’ between Max Verstappen and George Russell.
When introducing drivers throughout the opening monologue, Whitehall remarked “Cheer up, Max. It could’ve been worse—we could have seated you next to George Russell.”
The rivalry that began during the end of the 2024 season has captivated Formula 1 fans and media alike, with Verstappen claiming he had lost all respect for the Brit and Russell deeming the Dutch driver a “bully.”
Whitehall also joked about Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, urging fans to “pray for Toto Wolff.” This comes after Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes, ending a twelve-year-long partnership with the British team.
Gordon Ramsay vs the FIA
Avid Formula 1 fan, and celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay was present at the historic event last night. During the night, Jack Whitehall, asked the notoriously foul-mouthed chef what his thoughts were on the FIA’s new rule. The rule that states drivers are not allowed to swear in media interviews. With drivers potentially risking the loss of championship points.
Ramsay shared a popular opinion amongst F1 fans stating ” These athletes are pushing themselves to the extreme. So sometimes if it comes out, let them be real. Let it go, come on! They’re risking their life every time.” Which was met by a roaring applause from the audience.
A night to forget for Christian Horner and the FIA
The FIA and Christian Horner did not enjoy a reception as warm as others. Laura Winter was tasked with thanking the various Motorsport Marshals and volunteers, and the sports governing body.
When the F1 TV presenter mentioned the FIA, many fans in the O2 arena began booing the governing body. This comes after the FIA has made several controversial calls in recent years.
Similarly, when Christian Horner was presenting the 2025 Red Bull challenger, there was a loud chorus of boo’s toward him. Horner battled through the boos, but it was a tough gig for the Team Principal and CEO.
F1 75 was a historic moment for the sport. Launching into its 75th year of racing in style, it is hard not to get excitied for the season opener in just a few weeks time. But for the teams and drivers, the work doesn’t stop with Bahrain testing taking place in the coming week.
